Google Announces Instant Pages, Loads Results Before You Click
Google made several big search announcements today, including Voice Search for the desktop and Search by Image for the desktop (like Google Goggles on mobile). They also announced a couple new “instant’ features. For one, at its Inside Search event, the company showed off Google Instant for image search, which will be available in the next couple months to all domains and languages where Google Instant is already available

Today, Microsoft’s search engine has announced that its “decision engine” will now be influenced by what they are calling the “friend effect,” basically what is popular with one’s Facebook friends.

Google Panda Update – A Broader View of U.S. Traffic Patterns
Experian Hitwise has released some new Panda-related data ( obtained by Forbes ), casting a broader view of what some of the update’s victims’ search traffic is looking like since early in the year – before Panda’s first wave. There are some interesting findings here indeed. Forbes was kind enough to share a spreadsheet of the data, looking at U.S.
